Step Description
1 Wires are soldered in a particular order to determine rotation MotorWiringRotation.png
2 Put the battery in storage mode @ .5 C
3 Charge the battery at @ .5 C
4 Put the battery in storage mode @ .5 C
5 Charge the battery at @ 1 C
6 Put the battery in storage mode @ 1.0a
7 Charge the battery at @ 1 C
8 Put the battery in storage mode @ 1.0a
9 Charge the battery at @ 1 C
10 Use a gentle style of flying, flight time to about 50 - 60% of discharge limit
11 Charge the battery at @ 1 C
12 Use a gentle style of flying, flight time to about 70- 80% of discharge limit
13 Charge the battery at @ 1 C
14 Enjoy the full range of discharge with your newly conditioned battery




Here are some sample conditioning schedules. I didn't write down every result but you get the general idea. The conditioning before flying is time consuming, but worth it.

Once your batteries are conditioned, on fly days, it's OK to charge in the field at 2-3C. Be sure to keep your batteries in storage mode if not flying more than a week between charges. Also, charge your batteries back up at 1C at home before/after fly days. This will give you batteries a nice, long life with maximum capacities.


he tabs on the batteries are Aluminum. The area that the leads solder to are plated with tin so that they can be soldered.
